Hints and Tips
Control Of Central Heating System
smartfit kit

SYSTEM PROBLEMS -
Heat distributed to radiators when not required.

How water will be distributed to the radiators by the pump.

Overall control of the pump will be by means of a Room Thermostat and Cylinder Thermostat for distribution ot the radiators and hot water cylinder respectively.

The heating system may be divided into separate zones where different patterns of usage have been identified (i.e. downstairs, upstairs, hot water cylinder). Motorised valves operated by time-switches or thermostats will control the flow of hot water to these separate zones.

For larger installations consideration may be given to Weather Compensation Control to assist in the matching of heat output of the system with the outside weather conditions and Optimiser Control where the output will also be matched to the thermal performance of the building.

SOLUTION -
Ensure sufficient control measures are installed to regulate the flow of heat to the radiators.
